Why volunteer?

The Nash Health Care Systems Volunteer Auxiliary’s mission is to help assure that patients have a positive and nurturing experience by giving of themselves with compassion while also contributing to the well-being of staff and physicians.

As volunteers, we play a vital role in our organization. Whether delivering flowers to patients, performing clerical duties, working in the gift shop, escorting patients or just giving a smile to someone, volunteers are a critical component of health care.

Why not join us in making a positive impact on our community? /files/hospital_pages/light.jpg

What do volunteers do?

Many times, the only thing it takes to make a positive impact on someone is a kind word or a smile. In addition, we have several service area opportunities at various locations throughout the hospital. Service area opportunities include, but are not limited to:

  • receptionist duties
  • classroom set-up
  • cleaning equipment
  • clerical duties
  • giving tours
  • delivering mail and flowers to patients
  • greeting families and giving directions
  • serve customers through the Volunteer Auxiliary’s Gift Shop
  • distribute donated magazines to waiting areas of the hospital
  • staff / family liaison
  • patient discharge
  • filing and copying
